Maslo i med
This home remedy has been traditionally used in my country of origin to treat tuberculosis, bronchitis, asthma and other types of respiratory diseases.
In my native language the remedy is called “Maslo i med” and made from bitter wormwood honey and homemade raw butter.
Bitter wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) is a species of Artemisia famous for its medicinal properties. A species native to Montenegro has specific narrow leaves and grows in wild in abundance.
Preparation and Dosage
Mix equal parts of bitter wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) honey and pure, raw, homemade butter from cow’s milk.
One teaspoon should be taken first thing in the morning on empty stomach.
It is made in smaller batches 250gr or less of each of the two ingredients and kept in the fridge.
In absence of Artemisia absinthium honey which can be found only in Montenegro, Manuka honey would be the closest match. Manuka honey is raw, untreated honey from New Zealand also famous for its medicinal properties.
